Consequences of earthquake and tsunami in Japan for Okazaki & Kamet Trading BV

With great concern we follow the news about the situation in Japan, after the earthquake and tsunami of Friday 11th of March 2011.
It is shocking to see the devastation the indescribable number of people dead or missing.

Our sympathy is with the people of Japan.

Concerning Okazaki Manufacturing Company in several locations in Japan, we are relieved to inform you that all employees are save and also the companies premises are undamaged.
Of course our colleagues are shocked and do fear the nuclear power plant melt down.
The Okazaki head office is 700 km away from the affected area and their factories are even further away. For Kamet and its customers the impact for Mi cables supplies will be very limited since 95% of the production for Kamet takes place in Taiwan. This means that in principle their production schedules do not have to be amended.
This of course depends of what the Japanese government decides upon a possible power shut down to save on energy in view of the situation with the nuclear plants.

If anything changes to the situation we will announce it on our website
